So, you have taken this seriously and now you are forced to work from home...what do you do on your off time?
Obviously staying away from people is the most important aspect of self-quarantine; but it can become really boring after a while. We are so used to being busy 120% of the time that when we have to slow down...well, it is a hard adjustment to make. Aha...but let's turn this into a positive!
Having to stay home gives us the opportunity to re-connect with our family, our kids, etc. We were thinking that perhaps 100 years ago, when cellphones, tablets, computers and televisions were not around, we spent time literally in a type of quarantine and that allowed us to really get to know each other. Ask yourself this question...do you really know what is your wife's favorite color? Do you really know what is your husband's favorite song? What is your kid's favorite fruit, song, dance...the list goes on and on. Staying home is indeed a blessing in disguise (if you treat it that way)...learn to be patient and RE EXPLORE YOUR FAMILY!
We took out some board games that had been sitting up in the attic for who knows how long. We played Scrabble, Boggle, Loaded Questions and my personal favorite...Pictionary. We also tackled Clue and the ultimate monster....MONOPOLY!
Yes, there are positives to the quarantine...look for these wonderful opportunities that come few and far between. Listen to the laughter and enjoy the company of your loved ones!
